A Brief Summary of This Position:

As a key member of the Investor Relations (IR) team, the Senior Advisor, Investor Relations & Capital Markets plays an important role in advancing Valmont’s relationship with the investment community through effective investor communications, financial analysis, market intelligence, and consistent messaging. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Investor Relations and Treasurer, this role supports the planning and execution of key IR programs, including quarterly earnings, investor conferences, and roadshows, and coordinates the development of presentations, scripts, press releases and other investor materials.

The role partners closely with executive leadership, Finance and Accounting, Legal, Marketing/Communications, business leaders, and external advisors to develop Valmont’s investor narrative, monitor market expectations and investor sentiment, and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership. The successful candidate will bring strong financial acumen, executive-level communication and project management capabilities, with either direct investor relations experience or a strong finance/accounting background and the ability to quickly develop capital markets expertise.

Essential Functions:

  • This role requires up to 15% travel domestically or internationally, including overnight stays.
  • Manage the planning and execution of key investor relations activities, including quarterly earnings calls, investor conferences, analyst days, non-deal roadshows, and post-earnings calls.
  • Support development of the annual IR strategy and manage the investor engagement calendar, coordinating closely with sell-side analysts, institutional investors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage routine investor and analyst inquiries within established disclosure guidelines, prepare clear, accurate, and consistent responses and coordinate or escalate more complex matters as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain investor communications and marketing materials, including investor presentations, financial profiles, earnings materials, briefing documents, and IR website content.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, CFO, Finance Business Partners, Accounting, Legal, business leaders, and Marketing/Communications to gather, validate, and synthesize financial, operational, and strategic information.
  • Monitor investor trends, risks, and opportunities and prepare analysis and recommendations for the Vice President and senior leadership to support effective investor messaging and engagement.
  • Partner with internal leaders to develop key messages and themes for quarterly earnings, investor conferences and other strategic investor communications, including press releases and announcements related to acquisitions, partnerships, commercial developments and strategic updates.
  • Support day-to-day investor and analyst communications, participate in investor meetings as appropriate, and prepare management for investor interactions with briefing materials, anticipated questions, and follow-up information.
  • Analyze investor feedback, stock performance, market sentiment, shareholder activity, peer performance and market dynamics, and provide insights and recommendations to support executive preparation, investor messaging, and IR strategy.
  • Maintain IR data and analytics and identify opportunities to continuously improve investor relations processes, systems, and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, communications, or a related field and at least 7 years of progressive experience in investor relations, accounting, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, treasury, financial reporting, corporate strategy, financial communications, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, business performance drivers, forecasting, cash flow, capital allocation, and key financial and operating metrics, with the ability to identify and clearly explain the factors affecting company performance.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering executive-level presentations and written materials that translate complex financial, operational, or strategic information into clear, concise, and persuasive messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional leaders, synthesize financial and business information, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, coordinate across functions, maintain strong attention to detail, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced capabilities in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to anticipate questions and identify potential risks, inconsistencies, or communication gaps.
  • Working knowledge of public-company financial reporting and disclosure requirements or demonstrated ability to quickly develop this knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, communications, or a related field, or a professional designation such as a CPA or CFA.
  • Direct experience supporting investor relations or public-company financial communications.
  • Experience supporting quarterly earnings processes and investor events, including investor or analyst days, conferences, non-deal roadshows, press releases, presentations, and executive scripting.
  • Experience analyzing investor sentiment, shareholder engagement, valuation, capital markets trends, or corporate positioning.
  • Experience in a public manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex global company.
  • Experience in a sell-side or buy-side equity research, investment analysis, or capital-markets role.
  • Proficiency with investor analytics platforms, financial modeling tools, shareholder databases, and market-intelligence resources.
