As a senior terminologist, you have the necessary expertise to establish and maintain Desjardins’s terminology (French and English), make appropriate decisions about term management and maintain the organization's term bases. Your role also involves providing advisory services to internal and external partners; enriching and developing our term bases; helping us maintain a robust, functional and efficient structure for our term bases; using terminology management systems, designing and implementing methods to facilitate and improve consistency in terminology use across the organization; and supporting Desjardins’s translators and other terminologists. Your daily responsibilities may also include term base management activities such as updating, approving and merging term records. More specifically, you will be required to:

Provide training on terminology work and offer advisory services and support on terminology-related issues

Manage and maintain term bases, including updating, improving, merging and deleting records

Develop and structure unilingual and multilingual term bases

Design and implement effective terminology management systems

Analyze and test terminology solutions available on the market

Produce definitions, coin new terms, define concepts and name new products

Communicate with subject matter experts to determine appropriate terms for concepts

Analyze terminology needs, design workflows and implement terminology management strategies

What you bring to the table

Bachelor's degree in a related field

A minimum of six years of relevant experience

Academic specialty in terminology

Knowledge of French is required

Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
