We are seeking a creative, highly motivated communicator to join the Enterprise Thought Leadership team. In this role, you will help develop research-based campaigns to address the most pressing health care issues today, including health system transformation to enhance access to care, cost of care, and quality of care.
You will leverage data science to tell stories that illustrate our vision for creating a more sustainable health care system. You will identify emerging trends across our industry and culture and help identify opportunities to support our customers, clients, and health care provider partners. Success comes from engaging with enterprise experts to uncover opportunities for original research, generating thought-provoking story lines, and executing breakthrough communications tactics to ensure campaigns earn attention, are memorable, and resonate with target audiences. Recent examples of Cigna's Enterprise Thought Leadership campaigns include Vitality in America, Combatting Loneliness in America, and Cultivating a Healthy Workforce.
This is a Band 4 position on the Enterprise External Affairs team within the Communications department, reporting to the Director, Enterprise External Affairs.
Key responsibilities:

Develop and execute signature, research-based thought leadership campaigns to demonstrate our perspective on improving the health care ecosystem.

Steer strategic direction for thought leadership primary and secondary research, surveys, and content to address core business issues.

Stay ahead of emerging cultural and industry trends related to business priorities and routinely pitch new ideas for concepts and territories to address.

Simplify complex information into clear and impactful content, demonstrating keen insight into the integration of business and communications’ objectives.

Serve as a member of the editorial team that creates content for The Cigna Group, Cigna Healthcare, and Evernorth newsrooms.

Work collaboratively with business leaders, subject matter experts, and matrix partners across the organization as well as agency partners.

Strong editorial judgement, and exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into crisp, user-friendly communications. Candidates will be asked to supply examples of authored white papers, case studies, or other similar level content.

At least 10 years of experience with strong preference for candidates with expertise in thought leadership, either in-house or at an agency.

Health care industry experience is required.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or similar field preferred.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 111,000 - 185,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
