Senior Advanced Software Engineer

In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions that power Honeywell’s connected products and digital platforms. You will collaborate across software, hardware, systems, quality, cybersecurity, and product management teams to build secure, reliable, and innovative solutions for next-generation IoT-enabled products and services.

You will contribute technical leadership, influence architecture and design decisions, mentor engineers, and advance engineering practices for cloud-connected applications within Honeywell’s Fire and Life Safety portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Architect, Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise software applications and cloud services.
• Build and maintain modern full-stack applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and contemporary front-end frameworks.
• Architect, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven services, and distributed system components.
• Collaborate with product management, hardware, firmware, systems, quality, and cybersecurity teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture, technical design reviews, requirements analysis, estimation, and implementation planning.
• Develop cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure services and engineering best practices.
• Drive software quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and adherence to secure coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex applications, integration, performance, and system-level issues.
• Support the integration of connected devices, gateways, panels, and cloud services within IoT ecosystems.
• Mentor engineers promote technical excellence and contribute to continuous improvement and technology innovation.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in system architecture, designing, developing, and delivering enterprise software, cloud services, or connected product solutions.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
• Minimum of 5 years of full-stack development experience using Angular or React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web technologies.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud service, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Cosmos DB, including cloud deployment, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience applying software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, SOLID principles, secure coding, automated testing, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies, and effective troubleshooting and communication.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience mentoring and leading a team. 

WE VALUE

• Experience developing software for IoT-enabled products and connected systems.
• Experience integrating cloud applications with hardware devices, gateways, sensors, panels, embedded software, or edge systems.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, WebSockets, BLE, and Wi-Fi.
• Experience with device-to-cloud architectures, telemetry, remote device management, and event-driven messaging.
• Experience with Azure services such as App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, managed identities, OWASP guidance, and cybersecurity practices for connected products.
• Experience in industrial automation, building technologies, fire and life safety systems, or other connected-product domains.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled applications, analytics platforms, or developer productivity tools.
