POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Actuarial Analyst, Valuation in Brighton, MA.  Responsibilities include:

  • Support the valuation and financial reporting of annuity blocks.
  • Work with the valuation team in both the reporting and analysis of the business.
  • Calculate U.S. Statutory, Tax, U.S. General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reserves, and other related actuarial balances.
  • Provide analysis, including sensitivities, for both statutory and GAAP balances and earnings impact.
  • Maintain and improve various controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Conduct annual impact testing for potential assumption changes.
  • Work with the Modeling team related to any necessary modeling updates.
  • Work with Information Technology (IT) and data team on valuation system transformation.
  • Support Asset Adequacy Analysis.
  • Support audit and regulatory requests.
  • 40 hours/wk; Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm; $113,000 to $146,000per annum

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related analytical field, plus two (2) years of experience in an actuarial valuation role.

Minimum Special Requirements:

Two (2) years of experience in the following:

  • Working in the insurance or pension industry.
  • Working in an Actuarial Valuation role.
  • Working with annuity or pension insurance products.
  • Using Microsoft Office suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams).
  • Communicating and coordinating with multiple teams.
  • Personal accountability for the execution of goals and objectives through completion of tasks timely and accurately.
  • Participating or generating new and unique ideas such as making procedural changes or creating new procedures in an effective and controlled manner.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Completed the Associate credentials of the Society of Actuaries
