Description
The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting financial reporting processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, while providing analytical support to management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and internal policies
- Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances
- Support external and internal audit processes
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable activities
- Improve accounting procedures and internal controls
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA is a plus)
- 4–6+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with IFRS reporting
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
- Experience in process improvement and automation
- Leadership or mentoring experience
