POSITION OVERVIEW
Amity Foundation is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee monthly close processes, balance sheet integrity, and audit coordination. This is a hybrid role based in Tucson, Arizona, requiring a minimum of two workdays per week on-site. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting leader with strong technical expertise, a collaborative management style, and a passion for supporting mission-driven work.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role; OR 4+ years of accounting experience with a minimum of 2+ years in an attestation (audit) role.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required (Accounting, Finance, or related field).
- Demonstrated experience performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including:
- Bank accounts
- Fixed assets
- Prepaid expenses
- Accounts receivable
- Bad debt reserves
- Accrued expenses
- Loan amortization schedules
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly close processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 4 accounting staff, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development support.
- Coordinate and lead annual company and contract audits, serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Partner with senior leadership to strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting processes.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analyses as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
