Position Summary:

Responsible for examining, analyzing, interpreting, and maintaining the accounts and records of the company to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Complies and analyzes financial and non-financial information to record transactions and review/verify the accuracy of the data. Works closely with the business stakeholders, and assists in month, quarter, and year-end financial statement closings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the company’s accounting records and ensure financial statement accuracy
  • Preparation of monthly daily and monthly journal entries
  • Extensive account reconciliation and variance research
  • Assists with the month-end closing process
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end schedules related to leased asset portfolio
  • Assists with financial statements footnotes and disclosures related to leased asset portfolio
  • Work with other departments to research and correct account reconciliation variances
  • Prepares reports for both internal and external parties monthly as well as quarterly and annually by specific deadlines
  • Identifies ways to promote efficiency within the financial reporting process, incorporate best practices
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ previous experience in Accounting or Finance

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related business administration field.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Strong math aptitude is essential. Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines is critical; Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate proficiency with the following applications MS Excel, PowerPoint, and beginner proficiency in data query tools such as SQL Server.
  • Collects and researches data using intuition and experience to complement findings; demonstrates strong analytical skills. Identifies and resolves problems promptly by gathering and analyzing information skillfully, while developing and implementing alternative solutions as needed.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in various situations, listens attentively, and responds well to questions. Writes clearly and informatively, ensuring accuracy in grammar and presentation. Maintains confidentiality, listens without interrupting, and remains open to new ideas while keeping emotions under control.
  • Balances individual and team responsibilities with objectivity and openness to feedback. Builds positive team dynamics by treating others with respect, acting ethically, and upholding organizational values. Approaches others tactfully and maintains accountability for actions and commitments.

Additional Requirements:

  • Overtime required – required on an as needed basis.
  • Travel 0-10% - as required on an as needed basis.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ.

Work Schedule This position requires the ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs. Typically, between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed. Travel is required 10% of the time.
