We currently have a career opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our team. The Business Analyst will work as an embedded member of a 3-4 person BA team at a Wealth Management client. Day-to-day work centers on evaluating and improving an existing library of user stories for a new client onboarding system. This role requires someone who is comfortable working directly with business stakeholders — not just technical teams — and who can both analyze requirements and facilitate meaningful conversations to fill gaps and validate content.
This is not a greenfield BA role. The ability to critically assess existing documentation, identify what's missing, and rewrite requirements with a business lens is essential.
The role of the Business Consultant is for individuals passionate about identifying and delivering the right Business solution for each client. Our Business Consultants have a keen Business orientation with an understanding of how technology can be effectively applied to meet a variety of Business needs.
Our Business Consultants fill a number of different roles on our project teams working with a variety of technologies for a wide range of clients. The specific responsibilities vary for each client and each project. Key to the success of our Business Consultants is the willingness and desire to quickly learn the client’s industry and the unique requirements of each engagement and to fill whatever role may be required to best support our client’s needs.
A Business Consultant thrives in challenging environments and accomplishes difficult assignments without significant supervision and instruction. Our Consultants can handle the stress of being accountable for delivery and: complete goals on time, practice strong attention to detail, persevere through tough obstacles, and do not get easily discouraged.
The Business Consultant may be involved in the strategic planning of an engagement or helping the client make decisions about their future IT direction. Once a project has begun, the Business Consultant may assist in facilitating key requirements with stakeholders and customers using standard and User Experience techniques. The Business Consultant may be responsible for functional designs, detailed designs and system mapping, wireframes, requirement specifications, and prototypes.
The Business Consultant works with the Lead Business Consultant and Senior Project Managers to assist with daily operations exercising time management, communication and collaboration in a fast-paced environment to ensure the successful delivery of projects. The Business Consultant will interface with Perficient technical and business delivery personnel, as well as vendors and customers on a regular basis.

Responsibilities
Coverage audit: Review the full existing user story library to identify gaps — business processes, workflows, and user needs that were not captured in the original documentation.
Business alignment review: Assess each story for completeness, accuracy, and alignment to actual business intent; flag stories that are technically focused but miss the underlying business need.
Story redrafting: Rewrite, expand, and create new user stories in clear, business-readable language following standard formats (As a... I want... So that...).
Stakeholder facilitation: Lead and support working sessions with [Client] business stakeholders to review requirements, collect feedback, and drive toward formal sign-off.
Documentation: Maintain organized, version-controlled requirements documentation throughout the engagement.
Design and implementation support: Serve as a BA resource during design and development phases — answering questions, clarifying intent, and reviewing deliverables for requirements alignment.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3–6 years of business analysis experience in financial services, wealth management.
Demonstrated experience writing and reviewing user stories — not just gathering requirements, but producing well-structured stories that development teams can act on.
Comfort working directly with business stakeholders — conducting interviews, running workshops, and facilitating sign-off sessions.
Strong written communication skills; ability to translate complex processes into clear, concise documentation.
Preferred QualificationExperience in wealth management client onboarding / new account opening (NAO) environments.
Familiarity with financial advisor onboarding workflows — account opening, compliance, suitability, platform setup.
Prior experience rescuing or auditing requirements documentation from a prior team or vendor.
Exposure to process mapping / workflow diagramming (Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
CBAP, PMI-PBA, or equivalent BA certification.
The ideal candidate has worked on projects where requirements were unclear, incomplete, or wrong — and had to figure out what was actually needed by going back to the business. They are not intimidated by a backlog of 200 user stories that need to be reworked. They can run a stakeholder session, identify what's missing from a story in real time, and come back the next day with a rewritten version that everyone agrees on.
Financial services background is a real differentiator here. Client's stakeholders will expect the BA to understand concepts like advisor onboarding workflows, account types, compliance requirements, and the experience of a financial advisor navigating a new system. Candidates who have worked in wealth management, brokerage, or banking — even as a BA on peripheral systems — will ramp up faster and earn stakeholder trust more quickly. The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
