Senior Accountant
Overview
The CWP Accountant is responsible for managing expense recording and reconciling to enable accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of financial statements and other financial data. This individual will ensure that team targets and KPIs are met and/or exceeded and will support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. This position has certain responsibilities related to global process governance, primarily through the oversight of transaction processing and validation. The position also has responsibility for providing information support for and review of business analysis, as well as for first level interaction with other GBSC and business unit teams during issue identification and resolution.
Responsibilities• Performs complex accounting activities (e.g., sub-ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounting entries) in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements• Responsible for analysing and exercising judgment on financial performance and complex issues in contingent worker cost• Provides insight into expense accounting activity through preparation of management reporting, variance analysis, and ad-hoc analysis• Working on PO holds and complex vendor issues.• Independently leading CWP accounting process and expansion of the same in different regions• Independently determines complexity of issues, escalates and makes recommendations to leadership• Assists with the implementation of process improvements and process automation• Supports SOX compliance and assisting with control improvements• Supports relationship with external and internal auditors• Represents GBSC on cross-functional project teams in support of initiatives with impact to the expense accounting process, identifies issues and develops recommendations for resolution, monitoring and reporting on progress• Provides Expense customer service support to help resolve issues in a timely manner
About you
Skills & Experience• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance• CA/CMA , preferred• MBA, preferred• Experience reviewing and analysing work for appropriate accounting treatment• Experience implementing and suggesting process improvements• Experience performing basic issue resolution; gains exposure to the resolution of complex issues• Experience executing controls and assessing their effectiveness, makes recommendations to improve upon areas of concern• Proactively builds relationships with business partners• Experience in PO management, Variance analysis, Reconciliations etc• May produce and review internal and external reports with a moderate level of complexity to ensure compliance• Exposure to Oracle/Hyperion/Blackline/ Beeline skills beneficial
