Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Sphynx. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Accounting entries and month-end closing procedures
• Preparation and submission of tax declarations (VAT, income tax, withholding taxes, etc.), as well as monitor and manage MYDATA
• Assist with tax audits and manage ad-hoc tax issues with external consultants
• Bank reconciliations and reconciliation of subsystems (fixed and intangible assets, customers, suppliers, receivables, payables)
• Ensuring clients’ compliance with tax laws, regulatory provisions, and accounting standards
• Participate in the monthly financial closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations.
• Continuous update and in-depth knowledge of all changes in tax legislation
• Active participation in ERP future integration and implementation
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
• Payroll knowledge will be considered as an asset

• BSc or MSc in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience (preferably)
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, laws, and regulations
• Familiarity with Greek GAAP and IFRS
• Solid experience in year-end procedures and preparation of Financial Statements
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software such as Epsilon Net, SoftOne, Entersoft, Pylon.
• Excellent command of MS Office, especially Excel, and internet proficiency
• Excellent command of English
• Certification from SOEL or ACCA or other professional body will be highly valued
