About the role
As Senior Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations and ensuring compliance with the local financial regulations, working in hybrid model from our office in Rasttat, Germany. The primary duties will involve managing accounting processes, financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee full accounting for the subsidiaries in accordance with local accounting and tax regulations in Germany.
- Prepare and approve financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, in compliance with applicable standards (HGB or/and US GAAP, etc.).
- Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
- Collaborate with external auditors and prepare documentation for audits.
- Prepare tax filings (VAT, CIT, other mandatory reports) in both countries.
- Handle intercompany transactions and consolidation between subsidiaries in different jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial and operational processes.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll requirements.
You Profile
- Min. 5 years of experience in Senior Accountant role, at the entity level.
- Min. 5 years of experience with German accounting and tax regulations.
- Ability to work individually, without direct supervision, in a distributed environment.
- Background in international or cross-border operations.
- Practical and proven skills in calculating tax (VAT, CIT), preparing financial statements and account reconcialition.
- Advanced in English and German, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of HGB, and experience with ERP systems.
- Proactive mindset and ability to work in an international team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting, tax regulations, payroll and employer obligations in Germany.
