Prologis is looking to appoint an (Senior) Accountant based in Amsterdam for its Corporate Accounting department.
Prologis develops and invests in distribution facilities throughout Europe. In addition, Prologis manages several investment funds and joint ventures (mainly located in Luxembourg) and is an investor in all those funds and joint ventures. The consolidation and reporting of the funds are performed in Luxembourg; the consolidation and reporting of Prologis is performed in Amsterdam.
The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for the accounting execution, support and coordination of capital transactions, corporate income tax, statutory adjustments, non-controlling interests, and external debt. Capital transactions consist of acquisitions, dispositions, liquidations, mergers and are necessary in maintaining Prologis’ position as a market leading asset manager of industrial real estate and operating a tax efficient corporate structure.

What’s needed in order to do that:
- Ensure compliance with accounting rules (Local, US GAAP and IFRS).
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Work on external debt accounting including interest accruals, debt raising costs and daily communication with Treasury & Capital Markets and Cash Management Teams
- Work on deferred financing costs amortization, including review of incoming costs and providing information for set up in Asset Management module
- Work on deferred tax for several European countries
- Work on preparation of reporting pack and communication with Joint Ventures partners
- Support hedge accounting, perform calculations and ensure proper accounting entries
- Deliver balance sheet reviews of special purpose vehicles
- Assist in NAV calculations and preparation of financial statements for specific purposes.
- Ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded
- Respond to Ad hoc requests on projects, as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions.

- Financial education to at least bachelor level
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Exceptional spreadsheet skills
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Great organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Outstanding time management skills, deadline oriented
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
- Experience and an affinity with ERP systems, PeopleSoft experience is a plus.
