The Cost Controller responsibilities cover supply chain invoice processing, logistical partner communication and maintaining annual cost overview tools like databases per involved market.

The role bridges the financial processes of the SC department, purchase to pay processes and providing information about invoice payment status to logistical partners.

Main responsibilities:

Tasks Cost Control and optimization:

• Invoice Processing for SC invoices for 3PL, 4PL and wholesalers involved as well as connected vendors like waste managers, temp personnel agencies, national medical agencies, etc. Managing and keeping up to date a cost database per market giving a clear overview of cost drivers and trends for 3PL and vendor costs for the current year.
• Pushing back and challenging costs to 3PL and vendors when costs are above or below expectations and set tariffs.
• Define adequate action plans to track and optimize distribution costs.
• Ensure the control of expenditures and track performance versus approved budget.
• Engage stakeholders who influence the distribution cost (such as Trade, Customer Fulfillment, Commercial) to ensure distribution cost is considered and factored in when making decisions (such as changes in distribution model, route-to-market, minimum orders, frequency of deliveries and service level commitments etc.).
• Support the Budget process of Supply Chain.
• Much of the Market Supply Chain Activity is performed by 3rd part logistics providers and forwarders. In order to ensure that the 3PLs are managed in terms of cost and service, the cost controller works closely with the stakeholders to track cost and activity, and benchmark versus the agreed contract. This includes raising Purchase Orders. As well this role work with Finance and SBS/Business Operations to ensure budgets are adhered to, and action plans are set.

Work closely with the following departments: P2P, Finance, Procurement, Support, SC BEN and Nordics Teams as well as the FBP's of the GBU's.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and relevant experience in the supply chain / manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of the ways of working in the North Europe SC.
• Excellent in the English language both in writing and spoken variety. Dutch and other languages preferred.
• Be able to communicate easily with people from different management levels, internal and external, across countries.
• Entrepreneurial mindset to setup this role.
• Have a pro-active and problem-solving attitude.
• Excellent knowledge of processes and systems used (Easy Invoice, SAP iShift, Coupa, Excel) is a must.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical primary and secondary distribution processes.
• Strong willingness to drive change as well as good internal marketing and communication skills.
• Demonstrated high standards of integrity, professionalism, and commitment
• Good team facilitation and relationship building skills.
