The Senior Accountant will assist in preparing financial reports, conducting internal control audits, and managing Canadian Corporate and Sales Tax returns, while ensuring compliance and effective risk assessments within the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of financial reports, including monthly consolidated financial statements and related analysis
  • Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas 
  • Planning and executing internal control audits, understanding current processes and developments to strengthen internal controls
  • Assistance in the preparation of annual corporate tax returns. 
  • Preparation of monthly sales tax remittances
  • Assistance in day-to-day operations within the accounting department
  • Other related duties assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Designated accountant, preferably a qualified CPA
  • Workable knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience in preparation of Canadian Corporate and Sales Tax returns
  • Demonstrates ability to manage projects with multiple priorities and timelines
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
