Who we're looking for:

 

We're looking for a strong Senior Accountant to join our team. You'll primarily be responsible for supporting our US Accounting team with month-end close and reconciliations. This role will assist in properly recording revenue, accruals, reconciling and reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing and completing month-end close procedures, and assisting with our monthly financial statement variance analysis. You’ll also be responsible for assisting in Rover’s annual US audit, suggesting ways to improve processes and gain efficiencies, and assisting with mentoring junior staff.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record month-end journal entries and accruals
  • Perform account reconciliations in a timely manner and resolve variances each month
  • Assist in performing monthly variance analysis
  • Research and review transactions and provide necessary complex analyses
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
  • Review current processes and provide recommendations to management for improvement that will accommodate future growth
  • Assist with US financial statement audit
  • Assist in documenting and maintaining internal controls

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent (ie. Administracion y Direccion de Empresas)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in corporate accounting
  • Experience working for a US company, including knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously while consistently achieving deadlines in dynamic, high-pressure environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively and prioritize tasks to meet the diverse demands of the role
  • Expertise in advanced Excel functions and tools
  • Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong analytical acumen with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex problems
  • Strong skills in English and Spanish to facilitate communication with the U.S. parent company and local stakeholders
  • Familiarity with accounting software and programs
  • The position requires flexible working hours to accommodate the operational needs of the U.S.-based parent company, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across time zones.

  • Has experience working at a US-based company or working with teams across different timezones
  • Working within a SOX environment
  • NetSuite and Blackline familiarity

Location:

  • This role is based in Barcelona. We have a hybrid-working environment where all teams come together to the office every Thursday, and the flexibility to work from home the rest of the week. Candidates must be based in Barcelona (or willing to relocate).
