YOUR MISSION
YOUR MISSION
We are looking for a Record to Accounting Reporting Lead in Barcelona to oversee the month-end closing and audit processes of the African legal entities of the group, lead a team of 8 accountants, ensure the meeting of reporting deadlines and comply with the internal and external policies as well as with the local tax regulations and requirements of the countries. You will also lead analysis to explain performance vs. our Business Plan and supervise monthly reconciliations for both P&L and BS. You will closely work with our local, Regional and HQ finance teams to propose and implement initiatives to enhance current processes and to contribute to the overall success of our organization.
THE JOURNEY
- Supervise the month-end closing process of the African legal entities
- Ensure accurate and timely Management Financial Statements and Reports
- Lead a team of ~8 accountants from the African markets
- Ensure the financial Audits are submitted on time and collaborate with external auditors during financial audits
- Supervise the preparation of the monthly reconciliations for both BS and P&L
- Ensure all the local markets are compliant with local requirements according to tax legislation
- Ensure all accounting/financial Policies and Procedures are adopted in line with prevailing legislation
- Supervise the VAT declarations, ensuring accurate and timely submission
- Actively participate in the implementation of local ERPs and other different finance projects
- Prepare ad hoc analysis to explain deviations of the P&L vs Business Plan
- Adapt quickly to changes in company policy, tax regulations and legislation
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
- Bachelor's Degree from related departments (Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, etc...).
- 6+ years of applicable work experience in Accounting or similar role for multinational companies
- Several years of experience in people management positions.
- Leading leaders and/or strategic positions experience as well as multiple process experience is beneficial.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing processes
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Good understanding and experience of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP/IFRS)
- Fluent in English with the ability to understand and communicate clearly and effectively (both written and oral)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheet
- Experience using Navision and SAP S4/HANA is a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
