Summary: This position based in Drury Hotels Company’s Cape Girardeau Corporate office. This position will have responsibility for accounting for a number of hotels in addition to supporting the Director of Accounting on special accounting projects. The position maintains a high standard of integrity, service, and confidentiality at all times to promote the Drury culture with team members, vendors, and customers. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Maintains the accounting records for assigned hotels by recording journal entries and reviewing variances from budget. Applies generally accepted accounting principles.

• Prepares year-end work papers for assigned companies.

• Prepares and processes Sales Tax and Income Tax filings.

• Processes Accounts Payable for a limited time while in training.

• Assists in the annual budget process.

• Assists in the preparation of schedules requested by the external auditors in preparation for the annual audit.

• Assists in analyzing monthly variances and other reports as requested.

Required Qualifications:

• A college degree with a major in accounting is required.

• Minimum of five years job related experience is required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Requires team member to be an articulate and persuasive communicator.

• Requires ability to maintain effective working relationships with the public, service providers, and team members in a warm, friendly manner contributing to a hospitable team environment.

• Requires keen attention to detail in composing, preparing, and proofing materials.

• Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.

• Requires the ability to apply reasonable business skills and knowledge and make sound decisions regarding job responsibilities.

• Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and have the ability to enter data with efficiency and accuracy. Experience in Microsoft Teams a plus.

• Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently, establish priorities, set goals, and meet deadlines.

• Requires strong accounting and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA is preferred.
