Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reporting to: Senior Director, Corporate Accounting
BMTX is seeking a motivated and results-driven Senior Accountant to join its fast-growing fintech organization. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be the hands-on resource for our Banking-as-a-service partners and be responsible for preparing monthly billing, maintaining the accounts receivable ledgers, and coordinating collection efforts with the assistance of our Client Operations team. This position will also be directly involved in the monthly, quarterly & annual close processes, as well as routine analysis of financial statement results.
Ideal Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Reviewing and interpreting customer contracts and terms
- Customer relationship management, including records management
- Monitoring and reporting on outstanding receivables
- Assisting in the completion of financial close processes
- Preparing journal entries
- Maintaining specific general ledger reconciliations
- Following an effective and scaled SOX-compliant internal control environment
- Contributing to the development and documentation of key business processes and accounting policies
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to Junior Accountant
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms (NetSuite, in particular)
- Working collaboratively, across departments
Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA (designated or in progress) is preferred but not essential.
- 5 - 7 years of accounting-based experience, including month end and GL reconciliations.
- Hands-on accounting close and financial statement package experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be resilient, calm, and a team player.
- Experience implementing system-based solutions or other automation initiatives considered an asset.
- Must be detail oriented with ability to be productive under tight deadlines.
