About the role:
Omatic is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is key to keeping our financial reporting accurate and on time as the company grows. The Senior Accountant owns core parts of the month-end close, keeps the general ledger accurate, and supports audit, compliance, and technical accounting work for a SaaS business.

The role also helps develop other team members, keeps the close running smoothly, and finds ways to make our processes more efficient. It’s a good fit for a detail-oriented accountant who likes hands-on work and wants to help build a finance function that supports Omatic’s mission.

What you will be doing:
Month-End Close & General Ledger
  • Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across all entities
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Research and document technical accounting positions (e.g., revenue recognition under ASC 606, lease accounting) common to SaaS businesses
  • Support the annual financial statement audit, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Help maintain and strengthen internal controls appropriate for a PE-backed company
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the close cycle
  • Partner with the Controller on systems and automation initiatives (e.g., ERP and close management) as the finance function scales
  • Document accounting policies and procedures to support a growing, distributed finance team
Team Leadership & Process Ownership
  • Mentor and develop team members' technical skills, supporting their growth into more advanced responsibilities over time
  • Manage the intake and prioritization of ad hoc requests and one-off analyses directed to the accounting team, ensuring they are handled without disrupting the close
  • Partner with the team to identify opportunities to streamline manual, repetitive processes and improve overall efficiency
What you will bring:Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on ownership of the month-end close process
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently in a remote environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Preferred
  • Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business, including familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Experience working on a small, remote-first finance team where the role spans broadly across close, reporting, and process building

What success looks like in the first 90 days:
First 30 Days
  • Fully onboarded on Omatic's chart of accounts, close calendar, and existing accounting systems, tools, and workpapers
  • Built working relationships with the Controller, the two staff accountants, and key cross-functional partners
  • Shadowing the close process and beginning to take ownership of individual reconciliations and tasks

First 60 Days
  • Independently owning assigned close deliverables with minimal oversight
  • Actively reviewing staff accountant work and providing consistent, constructive feedback
  • Developed a clear picture of where manual or repetitive processes are creating drag, with initial improvement ideas identified

First 90 Days
  • Recognized as a reliable owner of core close responsibilities, consistently meeting deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  • Established as the go-to reviewer and mentor for the staff accountant team, with visible progress in their development
  • Implemented or in progress on at least one process improvement that reduces manual effort or close time

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Hands-on ownership of the month-end close process
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently in a remote environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders

  • Experience on a small, remote-first finance team
  • Experience across close, reporting, and process building
