The Senior Accountant is responsible for all aspects of the accounting process. This person will be responsible for maintaining the General Ledger within the accounting system. Reconciling of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, guiding the company through the monthly close process, and establishing strong internal controls will be key components of the position. The Corporate Controller will work with senior management and department heads in creating the annual and quarterly budget.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Ownership of balance sheet accounts and account reconciliations including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, CIP and accrued liabilities
- Month end close including bank reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transfers, straight-line lease adjustments and cost allocations - Budget to actual variance analysis and presentation
- Sales tax, personal property tax and real property tax filings
- Analyzing current and past financial data, preparing reports and projections based on this analysis
- Assist with the completion of the annual external audit and preparation of financial statement footnotes - Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Coordinating with other members of the finance and accounting team to review financial information

Job Requirements:
- BS/BA in Accounting, required
- Master of Accountancy, CPA and/or CMA, preferred
- 4+ years’ experience in a corporate accounting environment
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Strong understanding of balance sheet account reconciliations
- Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting process controls
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP, or similar general ledger system, preferred
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Four or more years of experience in a corporate accounting environment
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Strong understanding of balance sheet account reconciliations
- Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting process controls
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, Excel queries, and SQL
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Master of Accountancy, CPA, or CMA
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or a similar general ledger system
