If you're looking for more than another month-end close, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
We're partnering with a well-established commercial real estate investment and operating company seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is a highly visible position where you'll work directly with the Controller and CFO, taking ownership of the accounting for multiple real estate and operating entities while gaining exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow, and process improvements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and wants to continue building toward an Accounting Manager or Controller career path.
What You'll Do
- Own the full accounting cycle for multiple commercial real estate and operating entities.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Analyze balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Support property accounting, including lease activity, CAM reconciliations, capital expenditures, and loan accounting.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, and vendor relationships.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Prepare schedules for audits, tax filings, lenders, and external CPAs.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting preferred.
- Commercial real estate, property management, or real estate investment accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP).
- Experience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Yardi, or similar ERP/accounting systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Why This Opportunity?
- Work directly with an experienced Controller and CFO.
- Own your portfolio rather than being siloed into one accounting function.
- Gain exposure to commercial real estate, operating companies, budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
- Join a stable, privately held organization with a collaborative culture.
- Competitive salary of $90,000–$105,000 plus a discretionary performance bonus.
- Opportunity to continue growing your career with increasing responsibility.
