Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to take full ownership of a growing company's books? Veta Virtual is hiring an Accounting Manager for one of our clients in the Roofing industry. This role suits someone who combines strong technical accounting skill with the judgment to own outcomes, not just complete tasks, in a fast-moving roofing business.

🔑 Your Role:

As an Accounting Manager, you'll own the accounting operations for federal roofing and construction projects. You'll run the close process, strengthen controls, and give leadership the financial insight they need for sound decisions. This is a hands-on role. You'll own job costing, guide tooling choices, and shape how accounting runs in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Owning the full accounting cycle for the company's roofing and construction operations: reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting straight to leadership.
• Delivering monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements on a fast, reliable schedule leadership can count on.
• Overseeing job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules across active jobs. Checking each one for accuracy and surfacing profit trends leadership can act on.
• Owning percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and progress billing across residential and commercial projects, with full accuracy and compliance.
• Acting as a key financial decision-maker in a fast-paced environment. Balancing speed with accuracy and compliance.
• Leading the integration of outside tools with QuickBooks Online to make accounting operations run smoother.
• Overseeing accounts payable, expense management, subcontractor payments, and vendor interactions. Catching billing errors or unauthorized charge changes before they cost the business money.
• Preparing complete, accurate books for the company's external CPA firm each year, so the annual tax filing goes smoothly and fast.
• Forecasting the tax and cash impact of major business decisions, so leadership can plan ahead instead of reacting at year end.
• Guiding the work of accounting support staff or bookkeepers as the team grows. Offering coaching and feedback along the way.
• Partnering with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Strengthening internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures as the business grows.
• Using tools such as QuickBooks Online, Slack, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Zoom, and Google Drive every day. You may also work with Bill.com, ClickUp, Gusto, and Ramp.
• Staying current on new technology and AI tools. Championing the ones that make accounting run more efficiently.

✅ What You'll Need:

Core Technical & Mindset Requirements

• 5 to 7+ years of accounting experience with U.S.-based companies, including full-cycle accounting ownership. A CPA license or the equivalent local accounting credential is strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Comfortable partnering with an outside CPA firm at tax time, rather than filing the return yourself.
• Proven success managing external stakeholders and cross-functional relationships, ideally from public accounting, client-facing, or construction accounting work.
• Strong knowledge of job-cost accounting. Able to run accounting across several active projects at once.
• A track record of sound, high-stakes financial judgment in fast-paced, growing businesses.
• Experience reviewing or guiding other accounting staff is a plus, even without a formal "manager" title before this role.
• Past experience in construction or home services accounting is a strong plus — it means less ramp-up time on things like cost-of-materials tracking.

Tech Stack Proficiency

• Essential: QuickBooks Online (QBO), Slack, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Zoom, Google Meet, Google Drive.
• Highly desirable: Bill.com, ClickUp, Gusto, Ramp.
• Experience integrating outside applications with QuickBooks Online.
• Bonus: familiarity with construction job-costing or project management software, such as JobNimbus or AccuLynx.
• Awareness of AI use cases in accounting is a plus.

Soft Skills for Remote Success

• Full professional fluency in English, written and verbal. Able to explain complex financial ideas clearly to non-finance leaders, project managers, and field teams.
• Strong communication and teamwork across digital channels. Gives clear context in every async update.
• A proactive, solutions-driven leader with strong time management, organization, and independent problem-solving skills.
• High ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a remote, fast-growing environment.
• Integrity, curiosity, and a strong bias toward action. Confidence to make a call and stand behind it.
• To be considered for this role, you must be currently based in Latin America (LATAM) or Europe.
