Overview
The Corporate Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate balance sheet and income statement schedule. The Senior Accountant will manage reconciliations to support the general ledger. This position also maintains accurate Standard Operating Procedures for the company’s internal control needs.  The Senior Accountant works closely with the Controller, Accounts Payable. This position works under the Finance Department to achieve the Company’s short- and long-range business goals, revenue, and profitability objectives.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 
•    Maintain accurate balance sheet and income statement schedules and reconciliations to support the GL balance.
•    Maintain SOPs on support spreadsheets and other documentation for internal control needs.
•    Manage assigned monthly close accounting tasks.
•    Assist in variance analysis and managerial reporting as needed.
•    Assist with financial and tax audits or other compliance needs.
•    Review and prepare entries for sales tax
•    Perform other accounting functions as required.
•    All other duties and responsibilities assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•    Ability to understand basic financial terms and principles. 
•    Knowledge of core accounting principles.
•    Highly detail-oriented and organized
•    Ability to meet deadlines
•    Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
•    Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Minimum of intermediate skills in Excel to include pivot, lookup functions and formulas.  Working knowledge of other MS Word and Powerpoint.
•    Familiarity with accounting software and programs.  NetSuite is helpful
•    Familiarity with AI tools such as CoPilot and Claude is helpful.

 

Qualifications
  • Qualifications (Experience, Education, Licensure, Certification)

    •    Three to four years of general accounting experience preferred.
    •    Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required.
    •    DSO or HSO experience is helpful.

     

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Three to four years of general accounting experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with accounting software and programs
  • Experience with reconciliations and month-end close processes
  • Ability to understand basic financial terms and core accounting principles
  • Ability to maintain SOPs and internal control documentation
  • Experience preparing sales tax entries and assisting with financial or tax audits
  • Familiarity with NetSuite
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as CoPilot and Claude
  • DSO or HSO experience
