Job Description

Maternity leave cover - Temporary fulltime 12months.

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant to support the statutory accounting and financial reporting function for our Hospital . The role will be responsible for the financial accounting , including month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, statutory reporting preparation, and review of accounting records. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the accounting records are complete, accurate, reconciled, properly supported, and audit-ready.

Reporting to the Director of Finance your key responsibilities will be –

  • Own the month-end and year-end financial accounting process
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, P&L schedules, intercompany balances, accruals, prepayments, revenue-related entries, and supporting workpapers.
  • Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
  • Review bookkeeping, AP, payment entries, and reconciliations .
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to external audit queries.
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with internal teams including operations, compliance, and other finance team members to clarify transactions and obtain supporting documents.
  • Maintain clear documentation for accounting treatments, reconciliations, and audit evidence.
  • Identify accounting issues, unreconciled balances, missing support, or unusual movements and escalate them in a timely manner.

About you

  • CPA or CA qualified, ideally from an audit background.
  • At least 3 years experience in a Financial Accounting position.
  • Take ownership of tasks and follow through to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, and curious mind.
  • Strong excel skills , ideally intermediate to advanced level and comfortable using Microsoft suite 
  • Exposure to hospital environment desirable.

Remuneration 

Salary commensurate with experience.
