DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards,

and support business decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

The role requires strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in managing a full set of accounts.

This role will report to the Senior Finance Manager
As the Senior Accountant, you will:

Financial Reporting & Closing

  • Prepare and review full set of accounts, including GL, AP, AR, Inventory movement and fixed assets management
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/MFRS)
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., SST filings, SToDS refund request, tax filings, TPD, audit requirements)
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
  • Support audit processes and ensure proper documentation

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Monitor financial performance against the budget and provide variance analysis
  • Support management reporting with insightful financial analysis

Cashflow & Treasury

  • Monitor cash flow position and prepare cash flow forecasts
  • Ensure timely payments and collections
  • Manage banking matters and reconciliations

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements
  • Support the implementation or migration of accounting systems/tools

Team Support

  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior accountants
  • Review work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Coordinate task allocation during peak periods (eg. Closing, audit)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE | About you
The ideal Senior Accountant:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Proven experience handling full set of accounts and financial reporting
  • Solid exposure to audit, tax, SST, SToDS, TPD, and regulatory compliance matters
  • Prior experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC)

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/MFRS)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, analysis)

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
