We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and statutory regulations, and supporting the company's month-end and year-end closing processes.
The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background with at least 5 years of experience gained from a reputable accounting firm or the accounting function of a large corporation.
- Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with local statutory requirements and applicable accounting standards.
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Manage fixed assets accounting, inventory accounting, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, and responses to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new accounting policies, ERP systems, or process improvement initiatives as required.
- Assist management with ad hoc accounting analysis, reporting, and special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting/ audit experience
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting external audits.
- Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, or local GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with SAP systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
