JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations. This role will work closely with the rest of the Finance team members and interface with vertical leaders to devise best practices. In addition, the Senior Accountant will formulate and recommend accounting policies and make recommendations to improve the existing accounting system; monitor various financial activities and prepare reports accordingly; prepare adjusting and closing journal entries; perform complex reconciliations; and work on month-end close activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accounting: Perform complex accounting and financial work, including reconciling balance sheet accounts, preparing financial reports, posting journal entries and analyzing financial data. Assist in the month-end close process by preparing adjusting and closing journal entries. Perform complex reconciliation, able to identify the variances and provide an explanation within the 5-business day close.
  • Financial reporting: Create and present accurate accounting reports to senior management and executives. Own the monthly financial close and compilation of supporting work papers.
  • Financial analysis: Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
  • Accounting systems: Develop recommendations to improve accounting systems and procedures, and identify inaccuracies.
  • Financial standards: Participate in setting financial standards and forecasting.
  • Policies and procedures: Establish, implement, and improve a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks:Collaborate with the finance team on special projects and additional tasks as required.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Accounting Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, advanced degree preferred.
  • ERP Proficiency: Experience using an ERP system is essential for this role.
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable using various accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Solid General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) knowledge
  • Good understanding of MS Office, especially Excel
