Title: Senior Accountant, General Ledger

The Senior Accountant will be a crucial addition to the global accounting organization as EdgeConneX continues to grow its global footprint. This position is based in Menara Prestige, Kuala Lumpur, and reports to the respective Accounting Manager located in the same office and will work extensively with Corporate Accounting teams based in Herndon, Virginia in the U.S.A.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly close procedures and assist with GL reconciliations for areas assigned. The position will have the opportunity to rotate among various functions to develop well rounded GL skills.  
  • Analyze monthly close data and perform and develop relevant financial review analytics.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of global intercompany arrangements and work closely with corporate disciplines including legal, tax, and others involved in understanding transactions having intercompany impact.
  • Assists with statutory compliance workstreams; and liaise with local compliance vendors.
  • Supports local and regional business development activities, coordinating with global and APAC based business development teams and leaders.
  • Provides research and analysis to resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Coordinate accounting related matters with other departments and locations
  • Other functional areas as skillsets match and development aspirations arise/exist.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of accounting principles- GAAP/IFRS/MFRS.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and audit processes
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to details
  • Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects/issues to closure
  • Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness to seek opportunities to improve processes/quality of deliverables
  • Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities
  • Superb ability to meet committed timelines, leveraging assistance/input from peers
  • Strong and effective team player in working with various disciplines and peer groups; can cover all gamut of tasks required to ‘getting a job done’

Experience/Education

  • 5+ years of related accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/ACCA/ CIMA or equivalent
  • Candidates with experience in financial reporting and NetSuite are strongly encouraged to apply
