We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team at JBT Marel in Oberlahr, Germany.
In this role, you will be responsible for the financial reporting of our legal entities and play an important part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial information.
You will work closely with colleagues in Financial Control, Business Control, and Shared Services, and you will have a broad interface across the organization. The role combines hands-on accounting work with opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
Your responsibilities
Perform full financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports.
Perform general ledger accounting, prepare monthly account reconciliations and variance analysis.
Support timely delivery of financial accounting and tax reporting activities, including but not limited to: monthly, quarterly ans annual close processes, Balance Sheet reconciliation, Financial Statements review, US Gaap and HGB reporting, consolidation reporting, GST/VAT, and Corporate Tax returns.
Preparing periodic financial statements, including budgets, forecast, variance analysis and commentaries
Coordinate and collaborate closely with Shared Services and Finance teams to oversee & review Accounts payables and Accounts receivables transactions and capital expenses and others financial accounting matters
Execute business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal control and compliance to US GAAP and IFRS.
Liaise with internal / external auditors on all audit matters to ensure compliance and facilitate completion of annual group audit and annual statutory audit. Execute tasks in the PBC list providing supporting documents to auditors, variance analysis, and other internal and external audit tasks. Also directly communicating with statutory auditors, external and internal stakeholders - directors and company secretary.
Report Financial and Operational Issues-processes and systems related. Review of existing policies and procedures, internal controls, compliance with group policy. Process improvement recommendations and driving issue resolutions.
Test, design and roll out new financial system or tools
Support finance-related and system enhancement projects (process improvements, automation, etc).
Support other adhoc accounting activities
who are you
Bilanzbuchhalter (certified accountant), completed studies in economics with a focus on accounting, Financial reporting, or other related fields.
Knowledge in HGB and IFRS/US-Gaap and German tax
A structured and careful way of working as well as analytical and solution-oriented thinking ability
Communication skills, ability to work in a tam, as well as a reliable, precise, and independent way of working
At least 5 years of professional experience in international companies
Constantly motivated to further educate oneself and to contribute one`s own experiences to existing processes
Experience in project work (accounting projects)
Good German- and English skills
Good knowledge in MS-Office products
Knowledge of the ERP system “Proalpha” and the reporting tool “OneStream” is an advantage but not a requierement.

Skills Required
- Bilanzbuchhalter (certified accountant) or degree in economics with focus on accounting/financial reporting
- Knowledge of HGB, IFRS and US GAAP and German tax rules
- At least 5 years of professional experience in international companies
- Experience performing full financial close, general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, consolidation and tax reporting (GST/VAT, corporate tax)
