Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

About the Role:

Matic is looking for a dynamic Senior Accountant to join our growing finance and accounting team. This role will work closely with the Head of Finance & Accounting to oversee key financial processes, drive accuracy in financial reporting, and enhance internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience in financial operations, and a passion for optimizing financial systems. Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly reconciliations of all GL accounts, including revenue, developed software, prepaids, and accruals, ensuring balances are accurate and any variances are investigated and resolved
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
• Compile partner commission reporting statements in accordance with the Company’s partnership agreements
• Support the Head of Finance & Accounting in analyzing financial data, preparing variance analysis, and providing actionable insights to management
• Lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and scalability while maintaining strong internal controls
• Work closely with other departments such as sales, customer success, and product to ensure financial processes align with business operations
• Aid with the assessment, scoping, and implementation of various financial systems
• Contribute to the preparation of all financial records and supporting documentation required for the external audit process

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 4+ years of experience in accounting (public accounting or high-growth startup experience preferred)
• CPA is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, data analysis, and process automation (VBA knowledge a plus)
• Experience with financial reporting, revenue recognition, and reconciliations in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to improve financial processes and drive efficiencies
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Prior experience in financial services, technology, or insurance is highly desirable
