We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, overseeing critical accounting functions, and supporting strategic financial planning. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

The Senior Accountant will work a hybrid schedule from our Worcester MA office

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with data analysis and reporting.
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
  • Assist in preparing internal and external financial statements.
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Collaborate across departments to gather financial data and support business initiatives.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant License (CPA) preferred, with 3+ years of experience in public
  • Otherwise 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
