Charles River CFO, Inc. is seeking an experienced, interim, part-time Sr. Accountant for our client in the non-profit, higher education industry. This is a remote position and the client is in eastern time zone.
Must have STRONG accountant experienced in cleanups and reconciliations with attention to detail, the ability to find and correct errors and close / deliver an accurate set of books.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Flexible, 20–30 hours per week
- Location: Fully remote
- Duration: 3-6 month commitment
- Start Date: Immediate need
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile from Jul’25 forward
- Perform journal entries
- Subledger reconciliations
- Prepare books for ‘26 audit
- Perform monthly close, find and correct errors, and deliver accurate quarterly financials
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
- Systems used: Jenzabar (student info) / Blackbaud - Financial Edge NXT
- Prior experience in higher/secondary education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work
- Adherence to client policies and procedures
- Team-oriented and client-focused approach
