General Position Summary: Cloud Accounting Services Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Administer end to end bookkeeping for MNP clients in a fast-paced environment
  
• Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions
  
• Prepare tax slips for different types of income - T4s, T5s and Records of Employment
  
• Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
  
• Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process
  
• Review team outputs and ensure accuracy Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with supervisor or engagement partner to develop resolutions
  
• Monitor work in progress and file budgets; identify out of scope opportunities
  
• Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments
  
• Liaise with clients on administrative matters and provide functional advice to other team members 
  
• Work collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with clients and team members
  
• Provide support and training to junior bookkeeping team members
  

Qualification

Skills: 

• At least 4 years of end-to-end bookkeeping experience for external clients. Experience of managing books for Canadian clients will be an advantage.
  
• Experience of managing and running payroll for employees of external clients.
  
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes
  
• Experience working with cloud accounting software such as QBO or Xero is preferred
  
• Intermediate Excel skills – familiar with Excel functions such Pivot Table, VLOOKUP etc. to process and analyze complex data
  
• Sound communication and organizational skills
  
• Demonstrates attention to detail in all aspects of work
  

Educational Qualifications:

·       Bachelor /Master of Commerce OR

·       Masters or Diploma Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent experience 

Certifications:

·       Certificate in QuickBooks Online Advanced and Xero is preferred
