WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Accountant you are responsible for.
- Carrying out month-end, quarter-end and year-end routines including external audit and statutory financial reporting
- Initiate and/or review General ledger bookings for example rent, accruals, provisions and other balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage employee reimbursement claims/payment including FBT requirements
- Bank and cash flow routines and management of intercompany loans
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable liaison with centralised teams offshore
- Annual stock take lead from accounting function and monthly stock take routines
- Apply accounting standards and prepare accounting treatment papers to a high standard, for example carry out routines for IFRS16 lease accounting
- Assist with tax compliance tasks
- Assist Accounting Manager with ad hoc reconciliations and reporting tasks
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities with store teams and other functions (e.g. IT, Security)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure accounting routines
- Coach centralised accounting support teams to develop and streamline processes
Please note this role is a fulltime, 12-month fixed term contract role.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll be one of 2 Senior Accountants in the local team reporting to the Accounting Manager for AUNZ who holds a dual role as the Regional Accounting Manager for APAC. You’ll work closely with our Country Controller, as well as working cross functionally with team members across all departments of the business.
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people who are…
- CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience
- A true team player that likes to coach, support, and help others and naturally builds cross functional networks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to customize communication to different needs and stakeholders
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Passion for problem solving, process improvement and drive to implement change
- Previous experience in SAP, VIM, Concur is favourable
- Retail industry experience is desirable
- Big 4 background is desirable
