This Senior Accountant role will be supporting the Cigna Canada and all its subsidiaries’ companies in Canada. This role will be supporting day-to-day accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Preparing month-end journal entries.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Preparing lead schedules, including fixed asset continuity schedule and accrued expense schedule.
Maintaining tax continuity schedule.
Support tax reconciliations, including income tax, retail sales tax, harmonized sales taxes and insurance premium tax.
Supporting management reporting and regulatory filings.
Conducting variance analysis and commentary.
Support the external year-end audit process.
Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of full cycle accounting experience.
CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program.
Experience with OSFI reporting is considered an asset.
Accuracy, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication across all organizational levels.
Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
