Job Description:
Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant in the Global Accounts Payable (AP) team, you will apply advanced expertise and a customer-centric mindset to develop solutions for complex problems and define new processes with sound judgment. You will take ownership of key accounting functions, lead initiatives that improve business outcomes, and play a pivotal role in fostering cross-functional relationships and mentoring peers.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform travel and expense analysis, ensuring alignment with company policies and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
Participate in month-end close tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting activities.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (BSRs), ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Conduct flux (variance) analysis to explain significant changes in financial statement accounts, particularly AP liability accounts.
Take responsibility for setting individual goals and managing the scope of work with minimal supervision.
Work independently with significant freedom while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Lead or coordinate a small team as needed to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting standards and compliance requirements.
Identify and implement process improvements, manage small to medium projects, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills and collaborate effectively across departments.
Make sound, independent decisions, proactively solve problems, and suggest process improvements that enhance financial operations and team efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Global AP Team and organizational objectives.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance, CPA preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Relevant experience in end to end accounts payable process is preferred.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Software Package and Google Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP systems is a plus.
Prior experience working in a global company with a diverse vendor presence is a plus.
