The Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant for our Finance Team in the heart of buzzing Berlin! 

As a Senior Accountant you will be joining the Accounting Operations Team and take on responsibility for GL in the day-to-day and closing business. This role will collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Controlling to support monthly closing and reporting. 

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Director of Accounting and will work with the rest of the company domestically and internationally (e. g. for our US entity) to ensure efficient and timely operations of the accounting function.

You will:

  • Support on the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including statutory reporting 
  • Be responsible for the General ledger accounting (especially accruals, provisions and intercompany accounting)
  • Post month-end journal entries and prepare monthly account reconciliations

You have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the SaaS/software industry
  • Strong understanding of HGB accounting principles. Experience in IFRS accounting is a plus.
  • Reliable knowledge on how to present business transactions in an ERP system, preferably already experiences with Workday
  • Ability to think processually with a high interface competence to other departments/stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient German and intermediate English language skills

You are:

  • Advanced in HGB accounting
  • Experienced in working with an ERP Systems (experience with Workday is a plus)
  • High degree of analytical skills and self-responsibility
  • Able to think things through from a process perspective
