Department Overview

Our Servicing experts service all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans originated by Walker & Dunlop as well as certain life insurance company, bank, and CMBS loans. Our Servicing experts are the borrower’s primary point of contact and ensure that the requirements of the investors are met from loan closing through payoff. The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. W&D’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and W&D is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers, with a rating of CPS1-.

The Impact You Will Have

The primary responsibility of this position is to complete account reconciliations for all bank accounts that hold servicing related funds. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform the reconciliation of all servicing operational accounts including lockbox, disbursement, and corporate accounts. Work with the appropriate parties to clear outstanding reconciling items.

  • Perform daily reconciliation of escrow and P&I custodial accounts. Work with the appropriate parties to clear outstanding reconciling items.

  • Monitor and resolved daily overdrafts. Research and clear without creating additional rec items.

  • Setup and maintain bank account attachments in the loan servicing system.

  • Maintain daily cash recs on active agency portfolio P&I accounts. Work with assigned reporter to identify and clear variances.

  • Assist with monthly bank account certification for master servicers.

  • Manage and process limited servicing fee remittances

  • Complete the monthly servicing fee income report

  • Assist with testing updates to servicing system

  • Assist in automating tasks within the department as necessary

  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates

  • Other skills related to building a career in loan servicing

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Attendance is generally 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four (4) year college, preferably in accounting

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred. 

  • Experience in commercial real estate loan servicing preferred.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to competently complete multiple tasks simultaneously with an appropriate attention to detail.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under tight time constraints independently and within the department.

  • Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.
