Lead the render agenda within the animation pipeline, driving innovation in rigging and rendering while collaborating with internal and external partners to deliver high-quality digital assets for The LEGO® Group. Core Responsibilities
Your main job will be to lead the render agenda connected to the animation pipeline, including taking part in an already established rigging pipeline and contributing to further development across relevant pipelines.
Specify and design optimal solutions for the rendering pipeline while supporting and innovating the animation rigging pipeline, systems, and processes to meet diverse digital demands. Experience in 3D lighting and compositing is essential.
Managing relationships with customers, collaboration with the technical development team, and implementing ways of working and new standards.
You will drive the animation rigging agenda and engage in 3D modeling in Maya, UV unwrap polygon objects, 3D paints, texturing, rigging and taking part of the production pipeline, including implementation and maintenance of relevant 3D tools within the department.
You will collaborate with the Virtual Master Element (VME) format on developing and maintaining the VME format to industry standards and business requirements.
Take the lead on various digital projects across different departments, acting as a key business driver.
Implement and lead initiatives to build capabilities, developing, documenting, and maintaining internal guidelines and workflows for both the department and value stream levels.
Work closely with management to drive and stage relevant initiatives, optimizing agile workflows in collaboration with the task planner and scrum team.

The department of Virtual Asset Design is responsible for delivering 2D, 3D, and animated digital elements and assets. We support The LEGO® Group by modeling, texturing and simplifying assets for LEGO Building Instructions, packaging, marketing, digital games and various other digital media and pipelines. This includes high fidelity rendering as well as games and other experiences. Further, we deliver the rigging needed for animations, box art and marketing!
You will be working closely with a small animation team within the department of VAD responsible for the rigging and render pipeline and describing the needs of tooling to support that team. Further, you will be responsible for a close collaboration with teams internal and external from VAD.
Do you have what it takes?
A handful of years of relevant industry experience and a background in 3D modeling, including box modeling in Maya and knowledge of a range of art production processes
Extensive experience in rigging and rendering, plus basic storytelling
Software experience with: Autodesk Maya. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Substance 3D Printer, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Aftereffects
Experience working with animation pipelines and various digital pipelines
Familiarity with game engines Unreal and Unity is a plus
Knowledge of Marvelous Designer or similar and Game Engine Unreal and Unity
Strong team collaboration and communication skills, being able to effectively engage with external partners while driving and tracking results to foster continuous improvement.
Proficient in game and CGI development methodologies, with a strong ability to adapt to the industry's dynamic changes.
Tool focus and knowledge of basic scripting
