Job Purpose and Impact
As a Self-Service Analytics (SSA) Platform Engineer, you will be working on a small team responsible for full stack administration, operation, support, and growth of Cargill's SSA analytic platforms including Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and KNIME. These systems enable thousands of users around the globe and this role will help ensure those systems are resilient, performant, and reliable.
Key Accountabilities
- Application administration of Tableau / Power BI / KNIME including activities such as user access, content management, application licensing and software distribution
- Build and maintain data products related to SSA Platform governance and develop guidelines and best practices for sustainable data products in the SSA tools.
- Build and maintain initial configurations for Windows and Linux server deployments and Automate the administration/operations of the infrastructure and applications.
- Create and maintain documentation of the infrastructure and applications.
- Build and maintain monitoring/telemetry, log aggregation, and reporting/dashboarding on infrastructure performance, application performance, and user behaviors.
- Build and maintain standard authentication and access patterns for integrations within Cargill's broader data/technology ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience
- Proven experience with one or more of the following areas:.
- Building Power BI Reports and Semantic Models
- Optimizing database tables and queries to perform at scale
- Application administration and Windows and Linux systems administration
- Enterprise networking and routing, including interface config, DNS, proxies, firewalls
- Experience with cloud-based 'infrastructure as a service platforms': AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, or OpenStack
- DevOps practices such as CI/CD (Jenkins CI, Drone, Github, and Artifactory), Configuration Management and Automation (Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, and Terraform)
