Fugro are looking for a Seismic Navigation Support Engineer to join our team to focus on producing high quality data acquisition in our seismic projects globally. Based in our central technology hub in Nootdorp, Netherlands, you offer support to all seismic projects during the pre-project and mobilisation phase, where your expertise guides our offshore teams in correctly setting up the seismic solution within the Starfix suite.

This demanding role could be well suited to a talented individual looking to switch from an offshore role to an office-based position and share your experience and knowledge from there.
Your role

You provide support to seismic offshore projects by assisting in Starfix configuration and setup;

You work closely with seismic mobilisation engineers to ensure equipment interfacing is fully tested;

You attend vessel mobilisations globally as required to ensure interfacing between all required sensors is implemented;

You provide support to offshore projects by troubleshooting reported issues, provides advise on the use of our products and recommend best practices;

You ensure that Starfix data deliverables are of the required standard required for our seismic navigation processing;

You update, work instructions, best practices and all relevant technical documentation;

You identify and propose improvements to our products to increase their stability, efficiency and usability based on your communication with users in the field.
Your track record
-
You have BSc. or a higher-level degree in surveying or related subject, e.g. Hydrography, Geomatics or Geodesy. Or you reached that level by extended practical field experience;

You have relevant Marine offshore experience on a variety of survey projects including seismic and geophysical surveys;

You are experienced in the operation of the Fugro Starfix suite;

You have a thorough understanding of measurement principles and calibration procedures;

You have affinity with IT, data acquisition and testing of software. You are able to analyze software related problems down to the root, also on database or IT infrastructure level;

You have good communication skills, you are service minded, have a structured work approach, and you can convert questions and ideas into concrete tasks.
