We are looking for an experienced Security Specialist to join a hands-on security operations team supporting customer production environments. You will help verify secure configurations, apply established security processes, and provide expert support that keeps security standards consistent across live deployments. The role is intended for professional who can take ownership of complex security work, exercise sound risk judgment, and operate independently while engaging the right experts when needed.
What you will do
- Hands-on security support for production environments, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex security-related issues.
- Security point of contact across organizations.
- Review secure configurations across supported deployments and follow up on identified gaps.
- Support, Apply and improve processes related to security.
- Use OS knowledge, scripting, and security tooling to automate checks, collect evidence, improve investigations, and make recurring operational work more reliable.
- Work with encryption protocols, certificates, public-key infrastructure, key-management practices, and hardware security modules (HSMs) in production security operations.
- Maintain and improve runbooks, operational procedures, security findings, knowledge articles, and lessons learned.
- Identify opportunities to improve security posture, process adherence, and lead or contribute to prioritized improvement.
Location (Hybrid): Plano, TX is preferred. Will consider Ottawa, Ontario or Mexico City for the right qualified candidate. No sponsorship or relocation is offered for this role. The application deadline is October 22,2026 .
The skills you bring
You must have:
- At least 5 years hands-on experience in security operations, platform security, or a closely related technical security role.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in live production environments and investigate problems methodically from symptoms through root cause and corrective action.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, or security tooling in distributed production environments.
- Strong knowledge of OS, including Linux, hardening, permissions, services, processes, and system logs.
- Knowledge of encryption protocols and security technologies, such as TLS, PKI, certificates, SSH, IPsec, key management, and hardware security modules (HSMs).
- A clear sense of ownership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security topics to both specialists and non-specialist stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in English.
It would be nice if you also have:
- Practical scripting experience, such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
- Experience with SIEM platforms and security monitoring.
- Working knowledge of IAM, Vulnerability and Compliance Management.
- Strong investigation, analytical, and risk-assessment skills, with the judgment to distinguish urgent production risk from lower-priority improvement opportunities.
- Confidence working across organizational boundaries in a multinational and cross-functional environment.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position for Ottawa, Ontario is : $106,000 - $139,125
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee's contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee's contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, plus at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
