As a SecOps intern, you will assist the members of the Security Operations team with day-to-day tasks related to all aspects of the group’s responsibilities, including end-user education, data analysis, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, DLP, and incident handling.Job Description
We are looking for a Security Operations Intern. This role is a full-time internship and is remote. The internship dates are June 7, 2027 through August 6, 2027. As a Security Operations Intern, you will assist members of the Security Operations team with day-to-day tasks related to end-user education, data analysis, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, data loss prevention (DLP), and incident handling. This internship is a full-time opportunity requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. Candidates must be available during core business hours (8:30 a.m. EST to 5:00 p.m. EST) for the entire 9-week duration of the program. Please note that all work must be performed within the United States. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future. Candidates requiring sponsorship will not be considered.
What You'll Do
Run security training status reports and provide regular updates for managers
Review and respond to user phishing reports
Analyze vulnerability management data, create remediation tickets, and assist IT Operations in remediation
Review and update written security policies
Create, review, and update written security procedures
Assist with intake and response of user security questions
Assist with incident response as necessary
Conduct data analysis from various data feeds and generate reports for the Information Security Officer
Present a security-focused Lunch and Learn session to CAI employees as a capstone project
What You'll Need
Required:
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, or a related field
Current Junior with a 3.5 GPA or higher
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ethical, dependable, and eager to develop a foundation in information security
Preferred:
Interest in cybersecurity, threat management, or information security operations
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts through coursework, labs, or personal projects
Experience working with data analysis or reporting tools
Understanding of security best practices and risk management principles
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$20 per hourThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
