The primary responsibility of a Security Officer at Jackson Hospital is the protection of all persons and property connected with the hospital. He/she works to assure the safety and general welfare of all staff, patients, and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education:
High School graduate or GED
- Experience:
Previous law enforcement, military service or security experience preferred
- Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
Valid Alabama Driver’s License
Have and maintain a clean driving record
Pass a background check
- Equipment/Tools/Work Aids:
Hospital master keys, handcuffs, radio (walkie talkie), camera, flashlight, jumper cables, slim jim, and hospital vehicles.
- Specialized Skills:
Working knowledge of; computers, cameras, metal detectors and surveillance equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to detain, restrain, when necessary for the protection of self and others. Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods; must be able to do lifting.
