Job Requirements: Security Officer (Healthcare Setting)
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED: Candidates must possess a valid High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate as a minimum educational requirement.
BLS (Basic Life Safety): Candidates should have current BLS training certification to ensure preparedness for medical emergencies.
- New York State Security Guard 8 and 16 Hour Certifications: Candidates must hold valid certifications for both the 8-hour pre-assignment training course and the 16-hour on-the-job training course, as required by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services for security personnel.
- State ID Card: Candidates must possess a valid state ID card as evidence of holding the required New York State Security Guard certifications.
Driver's License and Driving Record:
- Valid Driver's License: Candidates must have a current, valid Driver's License.
- Clean Driving Record: Candidates should have a clean driving record, indicating responsible driving habits and a history free of major traffic violations or accidents.
- DMV Abstract: Candidates must be able to produce a DMV abstract (Department of Motor Vehicles) as a verification of their driving record.
Additional Licenses:
- F-01 Fireguard License: Candidates must hold a valid F-01 Fireguard license as required for specific fire safety responsibilities within the healthcare facility.
Experience:
- Minimum of One Year Experience as a Security Guard in Healthcare: Candidates should have at least one year of prior experience working as a security guard in a healthcare environment. This experience will demonstrate familiarity with the unique security challenges and protocols in healthcare settings.
