SECURITY OFFICER
The Security Officer is responsible for administering security services with an emphasis on protection of Rocket Lab assets (premises, possessions, people and infrastructure). This position will be 100% On-Site (not Remote nor Hybrid) based in our Rocket Lab Location in New Zealand.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Oversee the daily management of the security team in order to keep facilities and employees safe and secure
- Ownership of various security systems including CCTV monitoring, access control, and intruder detection systems
- Supervise and support the vetting and processing of visitors, contractors and guests
- Support the coordination of resources related to maintenance, repairs and facility projects
- Support the management of identification badge fulfillment, processing, and accountability
- Coordinate response to emergency situations (fire/medical/suspicious person)
- Handle administrative duties, attend meetings, and perform additional duties as assigned or required by Rocket Lab management
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 6+ years of security industry experience
- 2+ years of proven experience in security industry direct line management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of and experience with various security system electronics
- A valid driver’s license
- CPR and First-Aid training and/or certification
- Availability to work nights, weekends and special events
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality while performing in highly sensitive roles and missions
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Industrial work experience, preferably in aerospace
- Previous or current employment with Rocket Lab as an intern, employee or contractor, or work experience at another aerospace company
- Impeccable character/integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to de-escalate disputes and/or conflict(s)
