Supports research and development of a process for depositing phase-change materials to improve solar-array temperature performance. The role requires full-time, on-site availability for at least 12 consecutive weeks and is open to students pursuing engineering, physics, or mathematics degrees.

Supports Rocket Lab’s R&D team in developing a phase-change material deposition process to improve solar-array temperature performance, survivability, and manufacturability. Works with engineering professionals and mentors to solve technical challenges, provide progress updates, and collaborate across teams. The internship is full-time and on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks in Albuquerque, New Mexico, beginning in early 2027.

Analyze rocket aerodynamics and aerothermal environments across mission phases. Generate aerotables, characterize vehicle performance, perform and validate CFD analyses, model plume interactions and re-entry conditions, and support control-surface design. Collaborate with design, test, and GNC engineers to define tests, verify margins, and enable first-stage recovery. Process ground and flight data, investigate anomalies, and resolve sensor configuration issues.

Perform aerodynamic and aerothermal analyses for Rocket Lab’s Electron and Neutron launch vehicles. Responsibilities include generating aerotables, conducting and validating CFD across multiple flow regimes, modeling plumes and heating, supporting re-entry architecture, interpreting test and flight data, and collaborating with design, test, and GNC teams to validate performance and safety margins.

Develop and test flight software for spacecraft using RTOS or embedded Linux. Responsibilities include writing hardware drivers for spacecraft sensors and actuators, creating unit tests within continuous integration, validating software-hardware functionality, defining and documenting requirements, participating in code and design reviews, and assisting with on-orbit flight operations.

Supports business development activities for ADCS products by tracking and responding to customer technical questions, preparing proposals, and monitoring sales opportunities in Salesforce. The internship requires full-time, on-site availability for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2027.

Supports Rocket Lab’s Optical Systems Supply Chain team through cross-functional collaboration with production, program, and quality teams. The intern applies engineering and supply chain concepts, supports development projects, learns inventory practices, provides progress updates, and contributes to on-time product delivery while working onsite with mentors and department professionals.
