The IRT Security Officer is responsible for responding to HESS (Health, Environment, Safety, and Security) and security incidents, conducting investigations, and supporting the security team at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. Key responsibilities include monitoring and observing incidents, providing emergency response, ensuring effective communication, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting training and compliance initiatives. The role requires vigilance, quick decision-making, and collaboration to maintain a safe and secure environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incident Response & Security Operations
- Promptly respond to security incidents, alarms, breaches, and other emergencies to ensure the safety of employees, visitors, and company property.
- Conduct regular patrols and access control checks to maintain secure premises.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment for unusual activity, taking immediate action when necessary.
- Provide first response support during incidents, coordinating with other security personnel and emergency services as needed.
- Assist in implementing preventive security measures to reduce risks and vulnerabilities.
Investigation & Documentation
- Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, gathering and preserving evidence according to company protocols.
- Interview witnesses, review CCTV footage, and document findings for internal reporting or regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports, logs, and other records for management review.
- Support management in analyzing trends, identifying potential threats, and recommending corrective actions.
Training, Compliance & Safety
- Participate in security drills, emergency response exercises, and continuous training programs to enhance skills and preparedness.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and HESS regulations during all security operations.
- Promote proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals, safety equipment, and emergency tools in accordance with company policies.
- Actively contribute to a safe and hazard-free work environment by observing and enforcing safety standards.
Collaboration & Miscellaneous Duties
- Work closely with operations, management, and other departments to ensure a coordinated and effective response to security incidents.
- Support management initiatives and participate in projects related to facility security, safety, and risk management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors to meet organizational goals and operational needs.

- Training and/or certification in security, law enforcement, emergency response, or a related discipline preferred. In-depth knowledge of security operations, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests
- Proficient in reading and writing English to understand and interpret procedures, give and receive instructions, and effectively communicate with guests, managers, and co-workers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit to respond to security incidents and participate in training exercises
- Ability to work outdoors enduring prolonged periods standing and walking
- All island employees must be physically capable of participating in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills, with full range of motion in arms and legs, and full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities to give and receive instructions during emergencies.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is primarily conducted in an environment with minimal safety and health hazards
- Work may involve indoor and outdoor tasks with exposure to varying climates and machinery operation
