The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for managing all field operations. They coordinate the procurement and scheduling of resources such as labor, equipment, and materials to ensure optimal efficiency and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines, and quality standards at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. In addition, the Landscape Supervisor provides guidance and mentorship to field staff, supporting them in performing their duties effectively and in alignment with company standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Landscape Planning and Project Management
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of landscaping projects, ensuring all plants, trees, and lawn areas are properly placed, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for landscape projects, providing expert advice on design, plant selection, and maintenance.
- Design and implement soil erosion and water runoff management plans, incorporating sustainable practices to protect natural resources and meet environmental regulations. Prepare and monitor budgets for landscaping projects, ensuring efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment within financial constraints.
Irrigation and Plant Health Management
- Develop and implement irrigation schedules and systems to maintain optimal soil moisture levels for various plant types, adjusting for seasonal and weather changes.
- Inspect and assess the health of plants and soil, diagnosing and treating issues such as disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies.
Staff Supervision and Training
- Manage and train landscaping staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols.
- Promote a safe, productive work environment and support professional development among team members.
Procurement, Contracts, and Administrative Duties
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers for plants, materials, and equipment, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Engineer.
SKILLS SPECIFICS:
- Full understanding of heavy machinery operation, irrigation systems, hand and electrical tools usage
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED or Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience is required; additional education in Hospitality or a related field is a plus
- At least two years’ experience in landscape management

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
